Relief es la segunda parte de la trilogía RE-cycle. La primera pieza fue Respirit (1993), para percusión y cinta. Una de las ideas para esta serie de piezas fue partir siempre del mismo banco de material de audio e intentar encontrar nuevas formas de componer con ellos. Este trabajo es una pieza estéreo donde exploré la sensación de profundidad y cercanía en la imagen estéreo. Relief fue galardonado con el prestigioso Euphonies d'Or en el Concours Internationaux de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges en 2004. La pieza se ha representado en numerosas ocasiones en conciertos, festivales y en la radio de todo el mundo.

Relief is the second part of the trilogy RE-cycle. The first piece was Respirit (1993), for percussion and tape. One of the ideas for this series of pieces was to always start from the same bank of audio material and try to find new ways to compose with them. This work is a stereo piece where I explored the feeling of depths and nearness in the stereo image. Relief was awarded the prestigious Euphonies d'Or at the Concours Internationaux de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges in 2004. The piece has been performed numerous times at concerts, festivals and in radio worldwide.

REcoil es la tercera y última pieza de la serie RE-cycle., Para cinta. Todas las piezas de RE-cycle están compuestas por el mismo material sonoro básico. Mi idea ha sido volver a este material sonoro después de unos años para componer nuevas piezas. Las posibilidades de adaptar los sonidos para formar nuevos y diferentes sonidos son infinitas, al igual que los caminos que puede tomar la música durante el proceso de composición en sí. En REcoil, dos fuerzas trabajan una contra la otra: una poderosa y creciente, la otra que se reduce a matices suaves. La pieza está compuesta en 5.0 surround. REcoil fue encargado y realizado en los estudios del Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges / IMEB, Francia.

REcoil is the third and last piece in the series RE-cycle., for tape. All the pieces in RE- cycle are composed from the same basic sound material. My idea has been to return to this sound material after a few years in order to compose new pieces. The possibilities of adapting the sounds to form new and different sounds are endless, as are the paths that the music can take during the composition process itself. In REcoil two forces work against each other - one powerful and growing, the other one decreasing down to soft nuances. The piece is composed in 5.0 surround. REcoil was commissioned by and realized in the Studios of the Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges / IMEB, France.
